A direct rail product into the Western Balkans
Serbia is served by a limited number of forwarders on rail — most routes stop in Central Europe and finish by truck. Belgrade is offered as a direct destination on the Europe line, with containers crossing the Malaszewicze gateway and continuing through Hungary, where clearance or transit documents are arranged before the final leg.
Service scope
- FCL 20ft / 40ft / 40HQ on scheduled Europe-line trains, plus LCL via consolidation.
- EU transit documents or clearance at an intermediate office, with non-EU transit documentation handled for Serbia.
- Destination clearance with licensed partners, then delivery to Belgrade and across Serbia.
- Onward distribution to Bosnia, Montenegro and North Macedonia on request.
Serbia is outside the EU customs territory, so documentation differs from a German or Polish import. Tell us your commodity and consignee early and our documentation team will confirm the correct procedure before booking.
Frequently asked questions
How long does rail freight from China to Belgrade take?
Typically 16–25 days station to station, routed via the Malaszewicze EU gateway and onward through Central Europe. Door-to-door time adds pickup and last-mile delivery.
Is Serbia inside the EU customs union?
No. Serbia is outside the EU customs territory, so the documentation differs from an EU import — transit documents and a Serbian import declaration are required. We handle both with licensed partners.
Do you deliver beyond Belgrade?
Yes — nationwide delivery across Serbia, plus onward distribution to Bosnia, Montenegro and North Macedonia on request, on DAP or DDP terms.
