The right box for the lane
On China–Eurasia rail lanes the container decision affects both price and risk: COC (carrier-owned) keeps your commitment to the rail operator simple, while SOC (shipper-owned) frees you from carrier box restrictions — useful for DDP deliveries, long dwell times at destination and lanes where return boxes are scarce. We advise per lane and can supply:
- COC space on scheduled block trains, including express products.
- SOC containers — purchase or lease, positioned at origin for loading.
- One-way leasing for Russia and Central Asia lanes, released at destination terminals.
- Sales of new and one-trip boxes for customers building their own equipment pool — ask for current availability.
Example from our network: Hefei to Moscow on SOC boxes is a regular product — tell us your lane and we will quote box + haulage together.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between COC and SOC containers?
COC (carrier-owned container) is supplied by the rail or shipping operator under its tariff; SOC (shipper-owned container) belongs to or is leased by the shipper, giving freedom of destination, dwell time and carrier choice.
Do you lease containers one-way to Russia or Central Asia?
Yes — one-way SOC leasing is available on major rail lanes, with the box released at destination terminals. Ask for current lease terms per lane.
